Overview:
For the better part of the past two months, I wondered if Providence was going to offer Cushing Academy point guard Ryan Moesch. The 6-foot guard from Chittenango, NY arrived on the local prep scene last fall without a reputation to match his prolific scoring numbers—but that changed quickly once he took command at a New England powerhouse in Cushing Academy.
The lefty had enormous scoring games in his final season at Chittenango, averaging over 36 points per game in a year highlighted by a 55-point explosion and eight more games of 40+ points.
Moesch was a force in his first season of prep ball in New England, averaging 17 points, six assists, and four rebounds per game at Cushing, leading a team that finished 27-6 in the competitive NEPSAC AA conference last year (current PC freshman Jaylen Harrell played in the same league).
For all the scoring he’s done in his career, what makes Moesch so intriguing are his passing ability and feel. He’s creative off the bounce and outstanding in pick and rolls, and did nothing but help his stock this spring/summer playing for a terrific Middlesex Magic team on the Under Armour circuit.
Providence became his first high major offer over the past week, although we reported this spring that he had been on their radar for a while.
