They are gonna be fine, but man, that Vaaks pop out was the catharsis we needed, get the next one!

These friars are clearly good and much better than last year. This was a well-played game and that Greek kid from VTech is a legit NBA player, and played like one. PC likely will not see a player that good who can control the game from the point to the paint. Certainly upset by the lapses in OT, but the depth is exciting and every starter is meeting/exceeding preseason expectations.

We will see a player of the same caliber if by some twist of fate 5 star recruit Caleb Holt

decides to commit to PC. Our chances are not good at all as big name programs like Arizona,

Alabama, Kentucky, Kansas and Houston are after him. Go Friars!

I hate that we lost but I see good things. Sellers, Edwards and Vaaks are a breath of fresh air the Friars need to Dance this season. I like the rest of the team also but these three players will be the straw that stirs the drink (thank you Reggie!). I assume that at some point Rich Barron will return to help. All in all I see us upsetting some Big East teams. Go Friars!

It was a really exciting game and defense and rebounding are what lost it for PC. I would LOVE to see Kim be the difference in winning a close game. This seemed like a game where a coach could have pushed the team over the top, and he didn't. More opportunities to come, but this one was within their grasp.

Just one additional note that is important to recall. Kim brought three players with him to PC just two seasons ago. He brought 21 wins that first season. He lead that team and we all trusted him. Last year he was frustrated by injuries and learned a few things about the portal. I hear the concern about his confidence in the press conferences, but the guy is not going to be happy until he wins. I’m giving Kim some slack this year. He is still one of the youngest head coaches in the high majors. Maybe Steve Nap should give him some more media training to avoid phrases like “I gotta watch the tape” or “I was hard on a player in practice…” I have no doubt the guy is a good leader, he has plenty of guys who have followed his lead to PC and his instruction on the floor. Think he just has to project more confidence in the pressers. Yesterday was a step forward for the program, as Kevin has said. We just need Kim to tell us that first, keep practice stories in practice and provide the vision of where this team is going. I’m betting on the English teacher.

Such a well played game, but when game on the line, some guys tried to do too much on their own. Too much dribbling, backing in, and ball in one set of hands for just too long. That got us in trouble. Kim is right, ball movement gets rid of tension. Passing and ball movement went way down in OT. But overall, so much better than last year. Johnnies and Marquette losing somehow lessened the hurt. Go Friars!

Edwards had the ball with 3.8 seconds left and could have scored or been fouled but Kim called a timeout. We still don’t have situational plays on O or D. Coaching is still an issue with this team.

Alfred, I have watched the Friars for the last 30yrs since I graduated and painfully lived through Keno Davis. This program right now has no identity and toughens. They don’t play Friars ball. We still don’t have a true PG. Our game mgmt is poor and we can coat this anyway we want but at some point the program needs to move on and hire a Big East Coach. Keno Davis was a great recruiter but not a good coach and I can draw similar trends with this program today. This program is in trouble. I love the Friars and that’s why I bring this up.

I could not agree with you more about coaching being an issue. I don't like the fact that Kim uses alot of "um's" when he talks to reporters or at press conferences. It indicates he is indecisive. Indecisiveness is not a good quality in a coach. My opinion though will be decided at the end of the season. Go Friars!
