Providence Picked to Finish 6th, Bryce Hopkins 1st Team All Preseason at Big East Media Day

From NCAA Tournament success to conference records, AP rankings, and more, we take a look at how all 11 teams have fared in the Big East since the realignment in 2013-14.

The Big East coaches gave Bryce Hopkins a vote of confidence, naming him Preseason First Team All-Big East as the Friar star returns from a torn ACL suffered last January.

The Friars were picked to finish 6th by the league’s coaches, which is just about where most prognosticators had them heading into the 2024-25 season.

Coming off two consecutive national titles, UConn was picked to win the league, followed by Creighton, Xavier, Marquette, and St. John’s.

Creighton center Ryan Kalkbrenner was named Preseason Player of the Year, while UConn freshman Liam McNeeley was voted Preseason Freshman of the Year.

Bryce Hopkins was named 1st Team Preseason All-Big East for the second straight year.
