The remodeling of the Providence Friars continued on Friday night, as 6’11, 245-pound Northwestern transfer Arrinten Page committed to Bryan Hodgson and PC.
I like the approach of having lots of options. Schools that put so much of the budget into one man who then gets hurt are in trouble. Love the Celtics approach this year of having 10 to 12 guys that they can throw in there who can all play defense. Hope that’s the direction that we are headed this year.
You're right--we've often gone the route of focusing on one or two stars, with mixed success. I can't wait to see how Hodgson and his staff put these guys who have never played together into a unit.
I understand that the NCAA has loosened the rules on doing a summer trip to Europe. I think a trip to Spain or Italy or some country where they can get good competition would be a real good way to bond these guys from different teams together. What an educational experience on top of it go Friars.
We got our big man in the middle. Impressed by the highlights. Love the passing ability to open guys. Could be a real sleeper this year.
Enjoy your comments, Marty.
