Ryan Moesch set to announce his decision on Monday and it will be Siena, per sources
Providence target Ryan Moesch is set to announce his college decision Monday afternoon, and multiple sources have confirmed he is bound for Siena.
Moesch, a 6’0 point guard from Cushing Academy and the Middlesex Magic, visited Providence two weeks ago alongside fellow 2026 prospect Abdou Toure. He’s ranked 137th by 247 Sports and 144th by On3.com. Moesch was a big-time scorer in upstate New York whose stock rose after transferring to Cushing Academy last fall and then putting together a strong summer for the Middlesex Magic.
While Providence was the only high-major program to offer Moesch, Siena has been heavily involved throughout the process. The Saints, now led by Syracuse legend Gerry McNamara, have been down of late — finishing 14-18 last year after going 4-28 in 2023-24. They haven’t reached the NCAA Tournament since Fran McCaffery left in 2010.
This isn’t reason to press the panic button, however. Siena provides an opportunity to make an immediate impact, as Moesch could be one of their best players from the moment he steps foot on campus. Barring a transfer, the Friars figure to have point guard Daquan Davis entering his junior year in the fall of 2026.
Moesch’s decision comes as Providence continues to aim high in the class of 2026. The Friars hosted small forward Abdou Toure the same weekend as Moesch, and remain in-play for the 37th ranked player in his class.
Providence is also set to host Caleb Holt (the top-ranked shooting guard in 2026) on Sept. 19.
Top-75 wing Alex Egbuonu is slated to visit Sept. 26, and PC remains in the hunt for top-75 guard Aiden Derkack out of New Jersey, while additional names are likely to emerge this fall.

This feels like a bit of a Syracuse minor league development track…I’m sure Gerry McNamara sold that to him.
Funny how the fringy recruits (bottom 3rd of the 150), where PC has normally been major player, are the ones that might be trickiest in this new landscape. These are the guys that feel like they can compete at the highest level, but also might end up sitting as a freshman at a P5 vs an opportunity to showcase more at a midmajor. It’s like an active redshirt season.
If he was interested in PC longterm he commits there…get the feeling he was a transfer waiting to happen.
