Oduro was one of the most effective post scorers in the nation last year, and one that Mason leaned on heavily (more on that in a moment). A year after averaging 17.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game in his first season playing for English, Oduro enjoyed another strong campaign this season, going for 15.6 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game.

There’s a reason why Virginia, Miami, Syracuse, Florida, and others reached out soon after Oduro announced his intentions to transfer, but his relationship with English won out.

So, what is Providence getting in the 6’9 Oduro? The Virginia native ranked in the 99th percentile nationally in points in the paint last season (11.2 per game), while his 3.1 second chance points landed him in the 97th percentile. He shot just over 70% on put-backs (70.6%), which was good for the 90th percentile in the country.
